LESSON REVIEW – WEBSITE DESIGN
Yesterday’s lesson focused on the foundations of building a website. Below is a summary of what we covered:
-
Domain Registration and Hosting
What is a Domain?
A domain name is your website’s address on the internet (for example: http://www.yourbusiness.com). It is what users type into their browser to access your website.
What is Hosting?
Web hosting is where your website files, images, and content are stored.
Think of it this way:
Domain = Your home address
Hosting = The actual house where everything is stored
How They Connect
The domain is linked to the hosting account using nameservers. Once connected, when someone types your domain name, it directs them to the files stored on your hosting server.
